Mostly Dark And Challenging, This International Compilation Is For More Adventurous Film Lovers
The four disc compilation "Steamy Art House Hits" does indeed live up to its moniker. Like any assortment, the individual efforts will vary in how you react to them. From France, Germany, and Spain--these films have little in common from a thematic sense, but all are specifically intended for mature audiences. If you're just looking for a bit of sexiness, this collection might not be for you. Three of the entries are dark, experimental, and geared toward viewers not expecting conventional narratives. Love them or hate them, I have no doubt that three of the four films will leave you with incredibly strong opinions.

Secret Things--5 Stars: As 2002's "Secret Things" begins, the French film virtually slaps you in the face with its sexuality. The tale of liberation and exploration by the two leading ladies starts out as a bit of experimental fun and gets progressively darker and more intriguing.
